(favorite show of the week) "I Survived" (S05E02)





This lady, Susan (the one you see in the thumbnail), is one of the most amazing, courageous individuals I've ever seen. She's talking about how she survived an assassination attempt. There are a few other individuals talking about their near death experiences on this show as well.

"Life is But a Shadow"





I excerpted this beautiful work of art from "Listen to Me" a 2015 documentary about actor Marlon Brando's autobiographical audio tapes which he released posthumously. This part of the film is Marlon Brando reading a quote from famous classical writer William Shakespeare's "MacBeth" where the character Macbeth says

"To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
